Cash Application Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for managing cash application processes and ensuring accurate and timely allocation of payments. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic wholesale distribution environment while utilizing your expertise in accounts receivable and related systems. Responsibilities: • Process incoming payments and ensure accurate and timely application to customer accounts. • Review and reconcile discrepancies in payment allocations, working closely with internal teams to resolve issues. • Utilize accounting software systems and tools, such as CyberSource and Epic Software, to manage cash activity effectively. • Handle Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and ensure compliance with company policies. • Support billing functions by verifying payment data and processing adjustments as needed. • Maintain detailed records of cash transactions and prepare reports for management review. • Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to improve workflows and maintain accurate financial data. • Assist in processing refunds, chargebacks, and other payment-related activities. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the cash application function. Requirements • Proven experience in cash application or accounts receivable roles, preferably within the wholesale distribution industry. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including CyberSource and Epic Software. • Strong understanding of ACH transactions and other payment processing methods. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data accurately. • Familiarity with billing functions and reconciliation processes. • Effective communication and problem-solving skills for resolving payment discrepancies. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of general accounting principles and financial data management.
