Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join a team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a pivotal role in managing accounts receivable functions, reconciling payments, and resolving discrepancies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be eager to contribute to a growing organization. Responsibilities: • Process cash applications accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely recording of payments. • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments and credit memos. • Collaborate with sales teams and account representatives to address client disputes and payment issues. • Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across financial records. • Research and troubleshoot misapplied payments to identify and correct errors. • Maintain compliance with state-specific payment regulations, particularly in the liquor industry. • Code payments correctly according to varying state requirements and business operations. • Handle high transaction volumes while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. • Utilize AS400 systems effectively for data entry and financial processing tasks. • Support the accounts receivable team in achieving departmental goals and deadlines. *Please note that all candidates are required to provide 2 recent supervisor or manager references in order to be considered for employment. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, or a similar role. • Strong proficiency with financial systems, including AS400 or similar platforms. • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies. • Familiarity with coding, variance analysis, and reconciliation processes. • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. • Proficient in Excel, including formulas and data manipulation. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients. • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial tasks.
