Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Cash Application Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling accounts receivable and credit tasks, and supporting various administrative functions. This position offers the opportunity to grow with our expanding AR/Collections team.
Responsibilities
+ Provide excellent customer service through timely interaction and efficient resolution or escalation of issues.
+ Foster valuable business relationships across departments to resolve issues promptly.
+ Post daily payments from various sources onto customer accounts and reconcile daily postings with bank accounts.
+ Review and resolve unapplied cash reports, aiming to achieve less than 1% of payments posted as unapplied cash weekly.
+ Produce daily and end-of-month reports on applied and unapplied payments.
+ Work with customers to obtain missing remittance details for accurate and timely payment application.
+ Maintain an unapplied payment tracker detailing short/overpaid/invalid invoices and credits taken in error.
+ Process chargebacks and NSF’s.
+ Complete and resolve cash application reconciliation within 2 business days, escalating unresolved issues thereafter.
+ Update and maintain various reporting documents related to payments and unapplied cash.
+ Monitor and maintain a shared payment email inbox and cash queue to address inquiries.
+ Provide secondary support by answering overflow calls when needed.
+ Maintain proficiency with company computer systems.
+ Recommend improvements to management for efficiency and customer satisfaction enhancement.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in accounting and reconciliation.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
+ Strong skills in cash application and collections.
+ Ability to perform V-lookups, pivot tables, and manage aging reports.
+ 3+ years of experience in accounting or related functions.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
Work Environment
The role offers a hybrid work model, with office work required Tuesday through Thursday following the training period. The office environment is laid back and casual, located in Lenexa, close to the warehouse floor. Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. You will work in a cubicle office environment, reporting to the Credit/Collections Manager. The training period is approximately 90 days, contingent on performance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
