What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

Undertake carpentry, fitting, and minor maintenance works at a single Defence base, ensuring buildings, structures, plant and equipment are maintained to required standards.

Perform carpentry, joinery and basic building works including repairs, installation and maintenance of structures and fixtures

Deliver both preventative and responsive works in accordance with statutory, contractual and safety requirements, applying trade expertise across carpentry, and general facility upkeep

Ensure a safe working environment for all stakeholders including colleagues, customers, and the general public.

 

What You’ll Bring

Certificate III in Carpentry

Post-trade experience in carpentry and/or mechanical fitting within a facilities maintenance environment

Working at Heights qualification (desirable)

Demonstrated experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of building structures, fixtures and mechanical plant / equipment

Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent mechanical fitting qualification (desirable)

Current Open Driver’s Licence.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship is mandatory)
