Position Summary

Investigates, processes, and assesses the company’s liability for mid-value cargo claims.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

Investigates and determines carrier liability for mid-value cargo claims per company guidelines.Reviews claim forms for accuracy and completeness, obtaining missing information from customers and terminals as needed.Communicates with claimants, terminals, and sales to establish liability.Reviews packaging and salvages recovery for damage claims based on value.Interprets contracts from the pricing department to identify liability exceptions.Orders inspections of damaged freight if not previously performed, based on valueAllocates the paid amount to the responsible terminal for loss or damage.Supports general sales requests regarding claims and provides backup support to cargo claims associate staff.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.2+ years of claims or customer service experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation application systems.
Pay Rate: $19.86 - $22.85 per hour, based on experience
