The Opportunity
Pay: $12.50-$15.50
The Caregiver position provides support for our community’s residents with the essential day-to-day tasks they can no longer perform or need help with. Caregivers are responsible for helping people with their daily tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, bathing, dressing, and taking their medication. Successful Caregivers are sensitive, respectful and are passionate about helping those in need.
What You’ll Do
Helping with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressingSupporting residents with medicationRepositioning residents in bed and escorting them around the communityToileting, incontinent careTake vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate and pulseObserve and report on residents’ health, escalating any problems efficiently and effectivelyDetail daily reports to Nurse, or designated charge person, at end of shiftProvide emotional support and serve as a source of comfort for residents and their loved onesAssist residents with mobility by helping them get in and out of bed, chairs, or wheelchairs.Assist residents with eating and drinking.Responsibilities include customer service, caregiving, resident safety and communication.
What You’ll Bring
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; mandatory in some statesMust be at least 18 years old or meet the state’s minimum age requirementMust hold either a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aide) certification that is recognized and registered with the state of IndianaCompletion of at least 75 hours of state-approved training and successful completion of the competency examMust be listed on the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry or Home Health Aide RegistryAbility to take vital signsExperience assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)Medication supervision (within the scope of state regulations)Strong emotional intelligence, listening skills, and commitment to resident careMust pass all required state and company background checks and drug screeningAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English
