R.W. Tomlinson is looking to procure an experienced Network Security Administrator working in our IT Systems group. This position will be responsible for security compliance, day-to-day administration, maintenance, monitoring, and growth of our network. Applicants must provide examples of past work experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure security and compliance of all network devices. Security Policy Development and Enforcement. Project Management. Network Design and Implementation. Security Awareness Training. Network / Security Hardware / Software Configuration. Incident Response and Management. Day to day monitoring of network security and performance. Identify threats and technical vulnerabilities of networks. Prepare and/or deliver IT Security threat, vulnerability, and/or risk management briefings. Network growth and device provisioning/administration as required. Documentation of configurations and procedures. Transfer knowledge to all IT teams as required. Liaise with network vendors.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard office environment. Will be required to work weekends or evenings as required. Travel will be required on an irregular basis. On Call may be required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
5+ years’ experience as a network security professional with at least two years of practical threat and risk assessment experience. Experience with implementing Data Governance Experience in working within Microsoft Fabric Experience with working with AI technologies (Protecting internal chatbots etc). Very strong analytical skills. Strong experience in network security (i.e., firewalls and intrusion prevention systems, governance, fabric etc). Familiar with 802.1x port-based network access control. Experience tuning and/or configuring SIEM and vulnerability tools Hands-on Data Center experience and technical knowledge of network systems for LAN and WAN. Technical knowledge of network protocols and standards such as: Ethernet, LACP, TCP/IP, OSPF, Spanning Tree, 802.1X, QoS, VoIP, RADIUS, LDAP, VRRP, HSRP, STP, IPSec/IKE, DNS, NTP, SNMPv3, SMTP, FTP, FTPS, SSH/SCP. Strong knowledge of Mobility Controllers, Enterprise WIFI and AP management. Experience with switch stacking configuration and management. Experience with network monitoring and management (Airwave an asset). Network policy management sever experience. Extensive experience with routing protocols and layer 3 devices. Experience with MPLS configuration and management. Hands-on experience with routing and switching of multiple VLANs. Hardware, software, and network analysis (i.e. Wireshark, NetFlow) and excellent problem-solving skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSP certification or equivalent technical IT security and risk management certification(s) an asset. Knowledge of malicious software techniques and defenses. Flexible, self-starter/works on own initiative in a fast-paced environment. Strong documentation skills. Ability to engage in multiple concurrent complex projects.
