Career Opportunities: Energy Manager (4686)

Tomlinson Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated, hands on Energy Manager for a contract position. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, measuring, and implementing energy performance improvement opportunities across our facilities. This role involves creating and coaching facility specific energy teams, tracking and monitoring energy usage, conducting assessments, and developing energy-saving strategies. The Energy Manager will play a key role in fostering a sustainable energy management culture within the organization and will spend the majority of the time in working in the field across all of our facilities.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Energy Tracking & Monitoring:

Establish and maintain a database and an energy tracking and monitoring system for each facility/process. Develop key performance indicators relevant to each facility to improve energy performance.

 

Primary Assessment:

Perform industrial facility energy audits and perform high-level assessments, including walkthrough of major process areas at each site. Identify energy performance improvement opportunities and determine which systems require more detailed evaluations.

 

Energy Saving Opportunities & Action Planning:

Identify, assess, prioritize, and recommend energy efficiency projects to senior management, including both capital improvement projects and operational and maintenance changes. Prepare business cases to justify capital expenditures and complete applications for energy-saving programs to maximize funding.

 

Measurement & Verification:

Develop and implement a strategy for the measurement and verification of energy efficiency projects. Collect and maintain baseline data and post-project data to measure energy savings.

 

Energy Management Behavior and Business Process Improvements:

Foster a sustainable energy management culture within the organization. Provide avenues for employees to recognize and report issues and ideas regarding energy efficiency. Implement an employee training and awareness program to promote energy conservation.

 

Reporting:

Maintain a project registry of energy savings opportunities, including key project data such as estimated savings and costs, status tracking, ownership, and next steps. Complete other reporting requirements associated with the Energy Manager program.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Electrician, or a related field.

 

Experience:

Minium 5+ years of experience with a minimum of 3 years focused on energy management, auditing, or systems implementation. Attained the Certified Energy Manager designation Proven track record in managing energy efficiency projects.

 

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to create clear and concise documentation and training materials.

 

Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with energy management tools and processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with measurement and verification strategies.

 

Personal Attributes:

Strong coaching skills and ability to teach at multiple levels Driven and committed to achieving high standards in work. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Adaptable and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
