Job Summary

Summary<br>Responsible for assisting with direct patient care activities in a variety of Cath Lab procedures. Prepares and stocks the Cath Lab before and after procedures, gathers clean and sterile supplies, sets sterile instrument fields, maintains and monitors aseptic techniques.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>Yes<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Assists the cardiologist in all surgical and diagnostic procedures. <br>
-Attends to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures. <br>
-Attends to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures. <br>
-Recognizes and interprets arrhythmias and heart block abnormalities. <br>
-Tests tissue according to what the pathologist needs. <br>
-Describe the indications for electrophysiologic testing, permanent pacemaker <br>
-Operates the radiographic equipment utilizing radiation safety procedures <br>
-Protects healthcare organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches. <br>


 

Qualifications

Education
Associate's Degree Radiology required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?

Licenses and Credentials
Radiologic Technologist [MA License] preferred

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred

Registered Technologist [ARRT-R] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist [RCIS] - Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred

Experience
on the job training consisting of 2-3 months (dependent on past experience and knowledge) training will consist of orientation to the clinical and radiological setting formal orientation with an experienced radiologic/cardiovascular technologist to become familiar with interventional, hemodynamic and radiologic equipment as well as patient care responsibilities, all age groups 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of sterile technique.
- Ability to handle assignments under minimal supervision is essential.
- Technical Skills: strives to continuously build knowledge and skills, pursues training and development opportunities, shares expertise with others.
- Knowledge of lab equipment and procedures.
- strong desire and aptitude to learn.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Create various excel based sample reports with data exports.
