Rotates general office coverage with others answering phones, posting of assignments, etc. Responsibilities PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)


Related to Cardiac EDX: a. Performs Exercise and Pharmacology Stress Testing. b. Performs Holters and Arrhythmia Monitor application c. Trained to perform Holter Scanning. d. Prepares MUSE EKG reports for physician reading assures orders and charges are completed each EKG in MUSE.
Related to Cath and EP Labs: a. Performs patient assessment of vital signs and pulses b. Performs patient prep including clipping of site.
Related to CV Service Line in general: a. Performs EKGs for all age groups and transmits to MUSE. b. Performs cardiac monitoring c. Relays concerns of patient or significant others to charge nurse or tech d. Performs other duties as requested and assigned.
Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Participates in continuing education and departmental meetings.
Competent to document in EPIC computer.
Competent to order supplies in Lawson system.
Competent to work within MUSE computer system maintaining files.
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate service to all age groups.
Knowledge of operational policies and procedures related to patient care and safety.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated clinical competency in patient care.
Ability to provide compassionate, kind and caring approach in patient interaction.
Ability to assess and interpret data about patient status in order to identify patient age specific needs.
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, and as a team member.
Successful completion of a 12 Lead EKG course at Methodist Hospital within 3 months of hire.
Successful completion of required competency testing for area assigned within 6 months of hire.


EDUCATION


High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
Current Indiana EMT certification or one (1) year of work experience as hospital based Emergency Department Technician, Cardiology office technician, or a closely related field is required.
