Summary

71200 Cardiology Registered Nurse
Five 8-hour shifts per week with on-call rotation for weekend call shifts.
Shifts may rotate depending on staffing needs but primarily a 0730-1600 shift
On call rotation is for weekends and holidays 0700-1500 and rotated between nursing staff
This position will work between Cardiology and Cardiac Rehab to assist with admissions and staff coverage.
Currently, due to the addition of PET Scan testing in Cardiology, treadmill, stress echo, and tilt table procedure rooms are closed daily due to staff coverage. The PET Scan room also has a minimum of 2 more testing appointment slots that could be opened with the addition of a staff nurse. Volumes for procedures have shown minimal change with the addition of the PET Scan procedure.
Cardiac Rehab has a consistent work queue of 4-5 weeks to enter the program. This nurse position will be able to assist with Cardiac Rehab program admissions and possibly with increasing class sizes if needed.

This position will work between Cardiology and Cardiac Rehab to assist with admissions and staff coverage.

The RN prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care of patients; participates in patient and family teaching; and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Creates a positive customer service environment.

Job Duties:

Assessment and identification of patient needsImplementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.

Requirements:

Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.Rhythm interpretation recognition preferred
