Cardiology Device Specialist | Heart & Lung | PRN Status
This position is responsible for providing cardiology device assessments and programing. Our Mission: Quality, compassionate care for all. Qualifications: + Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with cardiac rhythm management required. + Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac rhythms, device interrogation and programing required. + Possess knowledge of hospital compliance, and patient confidentiality regulations required. + Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently. + Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. + Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. + Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Job Specific Duties: + Performs cardiac monitor placement and analysis. Accurately and timely generates reports for provider’s review, alerts appropriate provider of any critical arrhythmias per protocol. Processes routine reports for provider review and ensures appropriate documentation for timely and appropriate billing per department procedures. + Performs device interrogation of Biotronik, St Jude/Abbott, Boston Scientific, and Medtronic pacemakers, ICDs & ILRs. Ensures devices are programmed appropriately per protocol and appropriate follow-ups are scheduled. + Accurately and timely reports device reporting for provider’s review per department procedures. + Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies to support patient billing as assigned. + Reviews accuracy of downloaded device information. + Maintains records and reports device interrogations to assigned leadership per department protocol. + Maintains and monitors supplies and performs cleaning and restocking of cardiac monitors. + Integrates a knowledge base from physiology, pathophysiology, and cardiac device function to perform competent evaluations, diagnostic review, and overall analysis through remote monitoring and in-person device interrogation. + Maintains proper documentation of in-person device interrogations including those performed by device representatives for procedures, inpatient, etc. per department procedures. + Recognizes abnormal functions of pacemakers, defibrillators, ILRs and CRT devices and recommends strategies to address and correct issues. + Provides rapid notification to appropriate provider of any critical device malfunctions or arrhythmias per protocol. + Communicates clearly with patients for education of device function and remote monitoring. + Maintains patient records and communications as required by standard protocol. + Performs administrative duties per department procedures for assigned area(s). + Downloads remote device monitoring reports and prepares for the reading physician. + Ensures appropriate and timely patient follow-up and prepares physician reports per department procedures. + Tracks and bills monitored (i.e implantable cardiac monitor, OptiVol, holter/event monitor) patients per department protocol. + Preauthorizes testing and procedures to ensure reimbursement. Shift: Day Shift - 10 Hours (United States of America) Schedule: Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
