Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Cardiac Device Clinic Specialist to join our team!

The Device Clinic Specialist provides quality cardiac rhythm device services to patients throughout the Aspirus Heart & Vascular Institute service area.

HOURS: Full-Time or .9 FTE, 72 hours every pay period. Monday-Friday; day shift. No call, no weekends – periodic travel to support outreach.

Educational Requirements 

Associate Degree in cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, nursing or biomedical electronic sciences or a Bachelor’s Degree in cardiovascular/cardiopulmonary sciences beneficial.Knowledge of ECG interpretive skills (identification and differentiation of arrhythmia), cardiac clinical assessment, and routine cardiovascular pharmacological agents (indications, use and effects).

Experience Requirements

Knowledge of the technological aspects of devices (pacemakers, ICDs) i.e., pulse generators, leads and electrodes, sensing, stimulation, timing cycles, algorithms and defibrillation concepts.Completes Basic ECG class and passes with 85% or higher within one year of hire, or tests out of class.Computer skills required. Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.

Additional Desired Experience

Previous cardiac related experienceCurrent BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire Successful completion of the IBHRE (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) Certification Examination for Competency in Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy desired within 3 years of hire.ACLS
