Position Overview

Location: Work throughout Central and Eastern Wisconsin

Responsible for overseeing the capital project portfolio related to vegetation management. This includes managing, scheduling, and addressing any work-related issues that arise during capital construction projects. By ensuring effective oversight of these elements, the manager helps maintain compliance with project milestones and budget parameters while supporting overall project success.

Project Management and Coordination

Supervise day-to-day operations within the project scope, adhering to milestones and stage-gate reviews. 

Coordinate contractor vegetation management scheduling.

Represent the client vegetation management department with project management team, stakeholders and other organizations to communicate project status, planning and deliverables. 

Implement client vegetation management specifications, processes and procedures. 

Oversee Contract Utility Forester project support team. 

Coordinate and communicate with client vegetation management capital lead. 

Evaluate project vegetation management scope making necessary modifications to ensure project deliverables meets client specifications, requirements, and expectations. 

Create reporting for client as requested or required. 

Monitor project progress and status, address variances, and implement corrective measures to stay within parameters. 

Coordinate project vegetation management activities with support teams such as construction management, real estate, and environmental.

 

Performance Monitoring and Quality Assurance

Providing forecasts as needed for timely and accurate milestone completion.

Manages contractor productivity, safety, quality of work, and customer satisfaction per contract. 

Conducts field visits for accuracy reporting, crew audits, and customer service related matters. 

Oversee the resolution of any customer concerts, and property damage claims. 

Leads and coordinates all activities related to compliance with vegetation reliability standards, including bid package preparation, remote sensing review, record keeping, data entries, and audit preparation activities. 

Documentation and Record Keeping

Keep all project documents current, completed, and stored appropriately in a digital platform. 

Monitoring client data management systems.

What you'll need:

 Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field

 Proven experience in vegetation management, project management, or environmental program administration

Proficiency in data analysis and reporting software

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups.

ISA Certified Arborist expected, Utility Specialist Preferred

Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification or equivalent certification (CAPM, PGMP, PIM-ACP)or previous project management experience
