Operations Accountant | $85,000-$95,000 | Direct Hire  What Matters MostCompetitive Pay of $85,000-$95,000 salarySchedule: Monday – Friday, Days, 40 hoursLocation: Des Moines, IA Job Description Join a mission-driven community organization as an Operations Accountant focused on capital projects and fixed asset management. This role ensures compliance with governmental regulations and district policies by analyzing accounting transactions and maintaining accurate records. You will manage financials for large-scale projects, oversee asset capitalization and depreciation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position plays a key part in driving financial accuracy and supporting district-wide improvements. Responsibilities:Develop, monitor, and report on budgets for capital project funds and departmental expendituresManage contractor/architect payments and track retainage for construction projectsCapitalize assets, maintain the fixed asset subledger, and manage depreciation entriesPrepare financial reports including adjusting journal entries and audit reconciliationsEnsure compliance with federal/state regulations and district financial reporting Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field required, CPA or master’s degree is a plusMinimum of 3 years’ experience in general ledger and financial reportingStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and OutlookExperience with ERP systems (Business Plus preferred); familiarity with fund accounting a plus Benefits and Perks:Pay Rate: $85,000-$95,000 salaryMedical, Dental, Vision BenefitsPaid Holidays and PTOFSA, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Retirement PlansOngoing Training & Career Growth Opportunities Your New Organization:Your new organization is dedicated to preparing and inspiring youth to exceed expectations, lead with resilience, and make a meaningful impact on the world.
