Job DescriptionAs a Stormwater Candidate Engineer in our Water Resources team, you will provide technical and specialist analysis and design support in the area of stormwater drainage, hydrology and flood management for a wide range of infrastructure projects including road, rail and urban development in Africa and around the world.
Here is what you will do:
Hydrological analysis of storm rainfallHydrological and hydraulic analysis of catchment runoff and watercoursesHydraulic modelling and design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, scour protection and other flood control structuresSustainable urban drainage system designPreparation of project specifications, bill of quantities and tender documentationStormwater master planning and flood risk assessmentsHere’s what we’re looking for:
0-4 years experience in a similar role - essentialExperience in hydrological studies, hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure such as culverts and bridges - advantageousExperience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, scour protection, flood control structures, and runoff treatment and management devices – advantageousKnowledge of detailed road drainage design and multi-disciplinary interfaces - advantageous;Experience in the use of drainage analysis and associated design software technology applications (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, PCSWMM, Autocad, Civil 3D, GIS etc.) - highly advantageousStrong communication skills, both verbal and written.Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW)Strong knowledge of sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related fieldMinimum of 2 years' experience in stormwater engineering or related fieldAdditional InformationAt AECOM, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity
