The Accreditation Specialist works with department leaders to ensure maintenance of cancer accreditations from several organizations. The ideal candidate would be able to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team. They assist in preparing for accreditation surveys conducted by organizations like the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and National Accreditation Program of Breast Centers (NAPBC). This includes gathering necessary documentation, ensuring compliance with CoC standards, and participating in site visits. Cancer accreditation specialists play a vital role in monitoring the quality of cancer care by analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement. **Job Summary** Responsible for coordinating initiatives, deliverables, and documentation required to obtain and maintain accreditation by oncology accrediting organizations, such as: American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (COC), American Society of Clinical Oncology Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI), American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and others that may arise. Provides a lead role in research data collection. Prepares materials and agendas for National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) meetings. The coordinator is expected to support the clinical and administrative teams to provide leadership in the development, organization, implementation, and monitoring of the accreditation activities at Sanford Health. Ability to manage multiple concurrent, collaborative initiatives and facilitate leveraging efforts between work groups, monitor and analyze cancer related outreach activities, complete and submit reports and data to accrediting bodies and federal governmental agencies and contractors, coordinate and participate in conference calls, identity and participate in community awareness activities, coordinate and lead as necessary meetings with physicians, groups, or individuals. Engages with the entire oncology team to develop an effective network inside and outside Sanford Health. Collaborates with staff, leaders, and physicians across the entire health system to help create a continuum of cancer care and exceptional quality. Reports directly to the BMT Quality Manager. Experienced in managing multiple projects and working with broad diverse groups of people. Holds vision and values that compatible with the organization. Possesses strong critical thinking skills and is self-directed. Possesses a high degree of organizational and communication skills. Able to develop data collection methods and analyze data for meaningful analysis. Ability to work through and with others. Skillful at managing change. Able to delegate effective and appropriately, prioritize and negotiate project demands and seek alternative outcomes. Skillful in marketing and public relations. Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of clients. Committed to growth including personal and professional development and life-long learning. Work hours are generally Monday-Friday 8-5, no holidays or weekends. May occasionally need to work early in the morning or late in the evening for meeting in and outside the hospital. **Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or other applicable field is required. Master’s degree is preferred. Three to five years’ experience required. Experience in managing multiple high visibility projects and working with broad diverse groups of people is desired. No license is required, however if possession of an RN license, possession of an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. Attends mandatory educational requirements as directed by the organization.
