Campus LAN Planning Senior Engineer

As a Campus LAN Planning Senior Engineer on the North America team, you will be working in a dynamic, fast paced, collaborative environment. You will be leading the design planning and implementation of LAN and wireless infrastructure and services. This is a customer facing role and a collaborative role with Transport engineering and planning, Cellular teams, LAN Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Site IT, Network Operations and Network Service providers, applying corporate strategic solutions in support of key business initiatives. You will work on engaging projects that will enable effective and efficient operations to meet Ford’s business objectives. **Position Description** + Lead the design, planning, and implementation of the technical LAN & Wireless LAN infrastructure and services (all aspects of the technology lifecycle) for Campus LAN Planning North America facilities. + Gather requirements and schedule deployments, for technical infrastructure and services. + Work on the development of technical project plans (cost, timing, scope, contingency, and risks). + Assist (as needed) in the resolution of LAN and Wireless LAN technical issues. + Participate in network planning and change management forums. Assist with updating documentation and writing network change controls. + Plan and implement technical IT network solutions according to established standards and best practices. + Implement network design changes (e.g., technology refreshes, other moves/adds/changes, etc.). + Coordinate IOS updates as required. + Create and manage building maps and Access Point positioning in Catalyst Center + Work with standards and engineering teams ensuring best practices and process improvements are implemented. + Participate in global network standards design reviews **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology field or equivalent work experience in a Data Networking field + 3+ years experience in project planning, business analysis and requirement gathering skills + Working knowledge of Cisco network routers, LAN switching, Wireless LAN devices and Catalyst Center + Knowledge of network structure cabling industry standards a plus + Technical Project management experience in an IT or Network discipline + Self-motivated, quickly learn new software and procedures, exercise good judgment and show initiative in resolving problems and completing assignments + Must work well within a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment + Strong clear written and oral communication skills: ability to adjust appropriately for the audience + Attention to detail and ability to work independently + Ability to organize, plan and prioritize workload + Have a strong customer focus + High proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, MS365, SharePoint, Visio) + Familiarity with Jira Project Management tool for planning and tracking project tasks and deliverables (i.e., sub epics, features, user stories) + Flexibility in work hours + Ability to utilize desktop tools to communicate (Instant Messaging, Microsoft Teams) + Technical aptitude with ability to learn new networking technologies quickly You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
