We are expanding and as a result now have multiple positions available for qualified Mechanics and Mechanical/Trade Assistants available in beautiful Queenstown!

Our fleet of vehicles is any Mechanic’s dream job with a vast range ready for your skills, experience, and expertise.  You as a Mechanic will be handling the repairs and maintenance on our vehicles in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner with Trade Assistants helping and upskilling alongside.

Your work will reflect our company values and you will ensure company standards are within all appropriate laws and regulations and we are compliant. You will also make sure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.

What you’ll do

Servicing vehicles in line with manufacturers’ specifications and company standards, including carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles (e.g. replacing fluids, changing oil/air filter, tyres, brakes, fitting ski racks etc.) including cars, trucks and company fleet.

Monitor inventory and request the order of new parts from Service Administrator Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.

Perform diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.

Provide assistance to Trade Assistant when required.

Complete Repair Orders

Providing breakdown assistance when necessary

Preparing vehicles for hand back and sales.

Testing and general servicing of workshop equipment for safety.

Keeping accurate and on-time job records and recording servicing history in applicable systems

Conducting work in a safe manner, complying with Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental policies, procedures and being familiar with emergency evacuation procedures to eliminate or minimise workplace health and safety risks. This includes the reporting of all accidents, near accidents and hazards.

Adhering to Company Quality Assurance and Uniform Guidelines.

Attend company/manufacturer training as necessary.

Working efficiently and effectively in a team environment to maintain a culture of service excellence and accomplishing organisational goals under limited supervision.

Driving vehicles as required.

Other reasonable duties as requested by the Service Manager.

What we’re looking for

Full drivers’ license (including manual vehicles)

Trade qualification in Motor Mechanics (Level 4 minimum) with previous experience working as a motor mechanic (working experience within the car rental industry would be advantageous). 

Experience with both petrol and diesel motors.

A customer-focused, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work each day.

Ability to manage multiple tasks across multiple sites with a high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Good communications skills (written and verbal) with knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety legislation relevant to the role.

We work on a roster basis and are looking to fill the following shifts:

Position 1 - Trade Assistant / Mechanic (Full-Time, working 40-hours pw)

Monday: 7 am - 3.30 pm

Tuesday: 8 am - 4.30 pm

Wednesday: 8 am - 4.30 pm

Thursday: 8 am - 4.30 pm

Friday: 7 am - 3.30 pm

Position 2 - Mechanic (Full-Time, working 40-hours pw)

Tuesday: 8 am - 4.30 pm

Wednesday: 8 am - 4.30 pm

Thursday: 8 am - 4.30 pm

Friday: 8 am - 4.30 pm

Saturday: 7 am - 3.30 pm

Position 3 - Mechanic (Full-Time, working 40-hours pw)

Monday: 7 am - 5.30 pm

Friday: 7 am - 5.30 pm

Saturday: 7 am - 5.30 pm

Sunday: 7 am - 5.30 pm

Position 4 - Trade Assistant (Part-Time, 16 Hours pw)

Saturday: 9 am - 5.30 pm

Sunday: 9 am - 5.30 pm
