A day in the Life:Calibrate, adjust, and maintain electrical, thermodynamic, electromechanical, mechanical, and photometric/optical measuring and indicating instruments to conform to set standardsWork from verbal and written instructions and information supplemented by technical job knowledge and experienceParticipate in inter-laboratory comparisons and validation activitiesPrepare calibration data reports, data sheets, and other required documentationResolve problems through speaking with customers, vendors, and managementMonitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control proceduresManage equipment dataHandle shipping and receiving as neededServe as backup to Metrology Coordinator when neededKeys to Success:EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.A University or Community College degree in a scientific field with laboratory experience or, a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a technology-related fieldExperience2+ years of work experience in a technology-related fieldBroad range of scientific laboratory experienceExperience with various computer systems for data analysisProven independent work experienceDemonstrated customer skillsDirect calibration experience handling, calibrating, or maintaining equipment in a regulated environmentKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesCapable of self-managementProficiency with computer tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe AcrobatEnglish and/or French proficiency; bilingualism is an assetSite position requires no travelPhysical Requirements / Work EnvironmentPrimarily in the Metrology Lab, office environment including cubicles, shipping/receiving docks, storage locations, and laboratory environmentsPotential for extended periods of sitting performing repetitive workRequired to lift up to 50 lbsUse of material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacksPersonal protective equipment may be required in certain areas, including lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, and/or safety glovesSome areas may require steel toe shoes, bump hats, and/or safety glassesAble to work hours required to complete the jobBENEFITS:
