Job DescriptionInstrument competitive test vehicles with a variety of sensors (accelerometers, thermocouples, microphones, etc.) to collect data for characterizing and monitoring the vehicle's performance on track and on rollsConduct competitive Teardown workshops and reviews on competitive batteries, Electric Drive Units and power electronic units.Interface with costing team generate “Bill of Material” for competitive hardware torn down internally or at a supplier.Analyze manufacturing process best practices and consolidate this information with propulsion and Functional design integration teamPerform on track drivability assessments to support competitive benchmarking activities by tapping into CAN lines using tools like Vehicle Spy, OBD scanner to acquire CAN and PID channelsPerform tests on several federally mandated test cycles on the dyno to understand competitive strategies related to fuel economy/emissions and EV range.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited university

• 1- 2 years of prior OEM/Supplier experience

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers, demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

• Analytical problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues

• Strong verbal/written communication skills Fundamental knowledge of Hybrid, Electric automotive architectures

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science in Applied Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or System Engineering from an ABET accredited university

• Experience with test development tools such as but not limited to Python, Visual Basic etc.

• Ability to use CAN/Networking tools such as but not limited to: INCA, ODX, CANAlyser, etc.
