Core Responsibilities

Production employees at Smithfield handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to America’s dinner table. Production team members at Smithfield perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength and stamina.  Team members must be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands.

Duties

Good customer service and communication skillsGood organizational skills and able to work independentlyEffective time management and leadership skillsAble to work all positionsAble to work day or night shift as neededAble to calculate, estimate and requisition food and supplies in large quantities.Receive, inspect, verify and accept food deliveries; and assure proper storage.Able to operate Point of Sale Cash Register System and Computer MS Word and ExcelAble to lift over 50#Excellent attendance history.Current supervisors will be asked to comment on your performance and willingness to contribute to the team.Assist direct manager in reporting and managing the day-to-day operations.Maintain cafeteria records and prepare reports: inventory, sales, production sheets.Assure compliance with Safety and Sanitation regulationsKnowledge of kitchen equipment, preparing and cooking large quantities of food.Assist with all other tasks as directed.
