Job Responsibilities:
CAE Engineer wanted in Troy, Michigan to analyze complex components, sub-assemblies, and systems and formulate engineering conclusions by simulating the responses of systems/components using linear and nonlinear finite element analysis methods. Consult and collaborate with personnel in the CAE organization to optimize the design information flow, minimize modeling requirements, and propose design modifications where appropriate. Coordinate and develop the complete analysis process by determining appropriate techniques, formulating the analysis plan, gathering data relating to material properties, test set-up, and establishing timing for analysis, and explaining assumptions and results to business units in accordance with standard operating procedures and the product delivery process. Complete tasks and resolve issues to ensure compliance with program deliverables. Contribute to the development of project timing. Maintain a library of completed project reports and documentation. Coordinate problem-solving methodologies using CAE tools. Develop and maintain professional working and business relationships with key customer engineering contacts. Assist program teams in developing CAE quotes and preparing technical presentations, as required. Ensure that the divisions and program teams understand CAE and FEA requirements. Present analysis to Engineers, proposing design modifications where appropriate; Use Hypermesh, Abaqus and LS Dyna. Requires a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or in the alternative, a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12 months of related experience as a CAE Engineer or related position using Hypermesh, Abaqus and LS Dyna; analyzing complex components, sub-assemblies and systems to formulate engineering conclusions; and Stimulating system responses using linear and nonlinear finite element analysis methods.; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; M-F, $94,199.70 per year.
