As part of the plant leadership team the Engineering Manager will play a key role in delivering the SQCDSM agenda at the Marlbrook site. Through both technical and personal leadership, the Engineering Manager will guide, support and develop the site's engineering function to support the drive towards 0 incidents across SQCDSM.
The Engineering Manager will promote and drive integration of IL6S principles to improve and develop the sites engineer strategy towards a 0-breakdown culture. They will strive to engage with stakeholders across the site to deliver these improvements through the AM/PM pillar. They will be responsible in developing the AM/PM pillar to further enhance the sites approach to maintenance using task transfer, defect tagging and planned maintenance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reporting on the sites £3MM R&M budget, as well a team of multiskilled engineers across both core and non-core workers.
How you will contribute
Development of the Asset Maintenance strategy, across the site to deliver improved reliability of all operational assets
Develop a Best Practice Maintenance Framework which delivers improvement in 3 Over-arching Metrics (People, Processes and Plant)
Create a Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) culture through establishment of Planned Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and Pro-Active Maintenance techniques
Monitoring and review of PM information, to drive continuous improvement of Global Efficiency
Develop CAPEX strategies and Revenue strategies for essential replacement to best utilise financial resources in collaboration with the Marlbrook Project Manager and other key stakeholders.
Capability Building of all Technicians and Managers within Engineering positions
Foster a culture of great teamwork across all non-core and core functions
Support in the design of a matrix of Skills including, Task based and Behavioural based which delivers Site Business Needs
Provide Coaching and support to teams, to build capability towards an Autonomous Maintenance culture
Ensure a balance of in-house and contract work strategies to support volume flexibility
Budget Management
Plan, organise and execute Maintenance strategies to meet budget demands and constraints.
Manage, the sites annual M&R budget, escalation of issues, weekly reporting and driving for efficient spend.
Identify and support Productivity initiatives to achieve savings, by working with stakeholders across the site.
Coach and inspire the Engineering team to create ideas and practices to deliver ‘more for less’
Change Management leadership across the engineering organisation
Work in co-creation with technicians and senior leadership to advance Ways of Working, in pursuit of the Site Business Needs.
Support the development of operator skilling in technical tasks
Support the development of the onsite technical team to move towards an improvement culture.
Foster a culture of challenge and readiness for change – drive to do what is right not easy.
Create a customer driven culture for technicians to deliver against Best Practice maintenance metrics
Continuous Improvement of Maintenance activities and Project Execution
Develop new strategies to drive Continuous Improvement against Key Operational metrics
Inspire and engage operators, technicians and managers in TPM techniques and Lean manufacturing processes
Utilise Six Sigma methodology to drive RCA and uptime improvement
Development of Visual Systems to engage teams and communicate progress of PM pillar work
Coordinate and direct projects, analyse technology, resource requirement, and business demand, to plan and deliver complex projects, on-time and within budget.
Work as part of the site leadership team to develop the site’s forward investment strategy.
Ensure Compliance in QHSE practices
Ensure compliance to QHSE policies and standards
Utilise H&S strategies to improve Risk reduction measures across maintenance and equipment practices
Improve Quality Procedure compliance and practices to meet HACCP requirements
Resource Planning and Utilisation
Drive the development of PM and Reactive monitoring & maintenance processes
Coach and manage compliance to Proactive/Reactive work schedules
Drive continuous improvement and the spreading of Best Practice, to deliver time and quality improvements in maintenance execution
Responsibilities
Manage critical spares, inventory control and inbound/outbounds, to deliver uptime improvement
Liaise and work with the Plant Lead, to ensure legal compliance, corporate compliance, engagement across the site team.
Co-ordinate financial phasing to deliver to the sites M&R budget.
Existing practices, methods and technology are challenged and opportunities to improve factory productivity, safety and quality are proactively sought.
Technical & engineering input and support is provided to drive the site’s commercial and operational performance objectives.
Solutions to problems are recommended so that they can be designed out to improve safety performance, product quality and plant operating costs.
Coaching, development & support is provided to other members factory based technical and non-technical personnel (and to the wider Mondelez organisation if required / appropriate).
Manage contractors to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, to the highest quality standards with minimal disruption to the process.
Support and expertise in the application of GMP and Sanitary design standards across the sites is provided, developing and sharing best practices across the MEU network

Qualification Requirements
The following qualifications are required for this role.
BEng/MEng in Engineering (preferable).
Chartered status preferred
APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent preferred
