Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Drafter/Designer to join the Substation Design team. In this role, you will utilize standard drafting practices and procedures to contribute to a variety of engineering and construction projects. You will work under the guidance of a designer or engineer to modify and create design plans and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) programs.
ResponsibilitiesCreate, edit, and modify CAD drawings.Apply company CAD standards, practices, and procedures in creating and modifying CAD drawings.Collaborate effectively in a team environment.Coordinate the filing, storage, and retrieval of drawings and documents.Work with extreme precision and accuracy in creating design drawings.Plot and check drawings for accuracy.Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned.Qualifications & Skills
Required Qualifications
3+ years of Drafting/CAD experience in Substation Design or related field.High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.Basic mathematical skills and analytical abilities.Attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam.Willingness to learn and grow.Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in Drafting and Design or Engineering.3D Modeling experience (Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, etc.).Good knowledge of industry and technology trends specific to substations.Familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code.Work EnvironmentYou will be part of a team of Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Drafters located in Lake Mary, FL, just north of Orlando. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
