As a Tool Designer, you will be responsible for Tool Design and Technical Project Management and Customer Liaison. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: • Technical Interpretation and CAD Modelling: Interpreting technical drawings, CAD models and Tool Build Instructions for use in Tool Design • Tool Design: Produce full mechanical tool design in CAD with full sets of accompanying drawings. Designed to suit both customer and manufacturing requirements. • Technical Project Management: Ensure customer technical requirements are met and Support the manufacturing team in the production of tooling. • Customer Communications: Direct communication with the customer to grow the requirements, develop the parts and seek approval on the generated CAD. • Collaboration with Design and Manufacturing Teams: Ensuring all required technical information is provided, support design changes and manufacturing requirements. • QMS: Maintain the QMS, ensuring all records kept as part of the QMS are up to date and complete. • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of the design process. Drawings, Stocklists and Model revision control. Accurate records of received and supplied data. • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. + Time Served EDM/CNC/CADCAM Toolmaking or manufacturing experience + The ability to work independently and as part of a team + Good math’s and IT skills: + Be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives and providing input using your expert knowledge. + Attention to detail + Accuracy + Good verbal and written communication skills + 4-year recognized toolmaking apprenticeship plus additional 5-yrs experience + HNC In Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent + CAD / CAM Training + CNC / NC Machining Training + Time Served EDM/CNC/CAD/CAM Manufacturing mould tool trouble shooting experience Howmet Aerospace Inc.
