THE JOB: We are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant in Austin to join our team. This is a hybrid role with a combination of in-office and remote work. This position will ensure accurate information is reported and analyzed & prepare key financial schedules/deliverables for multiple festivals, while also supporting the Senior Accountant assigned that oversees management of the budgets & financial statements.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Month-end close; run project accounting and ensure deferrals are recorded, prepare and record monthly net downs and assist Senior Accountant with reclasses & accruals as needed
•Serves as the primary liaison with Brinks to coordinate secure cash pickups, deliveries, and resolve service issues
•Serves as the primary liaison with PEX to coordinate funding, defunding, and resolve service issues
•Maintain tracker of all cash/pex floats and perform monthly reconciliation to Prepaid balance
•Manage cash/pex requests, returns and prepare journal entries
•Reconcile cash floats immediately following event
•Review monthly Brinks charges and prepare journal entries
•Manage C3PO workflow/approvals and assist with reconciling to project actuals
•Prepare bank and balance sheet account reconciliations and submit for review
•Create invoices and record corresponding revenues
•Work with AP/AR Specialists to ensure that all receivables, receipts, and payable items are processed and recorded accurately and timely
•Record and apply customer payments in Oracle to ensure accurate account balances
•Monitor receivable balances and collection efforts, ensuring adequate reserves are recorded as necessary
•Maintain accounting files; provide audit support as needed, ensure that files are in compliance with GAAP and all company policies/procedures
•Set up wires in the bank and provide supporting documentation to AP
•Perform other accounting functions as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
•2+ years industry accounting experience (no audit or tax)
•Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
•Oracle experience a plus
•Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
•Self-motivated
•Strong analytical/problem solving skills
•A positive attitude
•Ability to travel on occasion
