We are looking for a Buyer for raw materials in Electronics & Industrial Business. The location will be in Reynosa in Mexico. This incumbent will lead the development and execution of sourcing plans/strategy for Laird to improve competitive position and achieve Business goals. Collaborates with business leaders in the establishment and execution of sourcing strategies. Identifies and drives continuous improvement in the contractual relationship with suppliers.

Your Key Responsibilities:  

Work with businesses and other supporting functions to fully understand business needs and develop/select reliable suppliers to deliver high quality products at lowest total cost to DuPont.

The position requires the capability to analyze, understand and interpret market dynamics and drivers, supplier capability and constraints, quantity leverage, regional regulations, and best sourcing practices to develop and implement category management strategies to achieve long term competitive advantages for the business. Such strategies will leverage the total global business purchase requirements while accommodating regional differences in execution.

Effectively utilize Laird Global Procurement processes, procedures and tools to achieve Procurement functional goals and corporate governance requirements, whilst delivering business needs. Have a disciplined approach to ensure system data remains accurate, up to date, and consistent.

Develop, negotiate, implement and manage Supply Agreements through understanding:

Implications of contract languageDuPont demand forecast and critical growth objectivesQuality, responsible care, regulatory and supply chain requirementsIndustry supply/demand dynamics and applying to sourcing strategiesDuPont and general market price history and drivers

Manage supplier performance. Work with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, PM, Quality, and other functions to ensure suppliers deliver high performance levels at or exceeding expectations. Develop Supplier Relationship Management plans for critical suppliers to instill continuous improvement approach, maximize value generation, and minimize supply risk. 

Your Qualification Profile:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics or a related field is requiredMinimum 5+ years of sourcing, manufacturing, operations or supply chain experience with progressive increases in responsibility and contribution requiredStrong negotiation skills.Good communication and relationship skills (internal clients, external suppliers).Fluent in English and Spanish languageHigh degree of competency in data and value analysis, combined with excellent IT skills.Good understanding of Legal fundamentals (as relates to contracts).High level of understanding of Supply Chain fundamentals and the integration with Sourcing.Good understanding of Finance fundamentals.High ethical standards.Good understanding of Regulatory requirements.
