The Buyer Planner is responsible for managing the procurement and planning of materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures timely availability of materials while optimizing inventory levels and maintaining cost efficiency. The Buyer Planner collaborates closely with suppliers, production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute material planning strategies to meet production schedules and customer demand.Create and manage purchase orders based on MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs and forecast data.Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.Maintain accurate inventory levels and perform regular reviews to minimize excess and obsolete stock.Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support new product introductions and engineering changes.Analyze demand trends and adjust planning parameters accordingly.Participate in supplier selection, evaluation, and negotiation processes.Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in a buyer/planner or similar role within a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.APICS/CPIM certification is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $33.65/hr.
