We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer Planner to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the procurement of raw materials such as plastics and resins, as well as finished goods including cabinets. The ideal candidate will manage supplier relationships, ensure timely delivery of materials, and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:Procurement & PlanningSource and purchase raw materials (e.g., plastics, resins) and finished goods (e.g., cabinets) in alignment with production needs.Develop and maintain material requirement plans (MRP) based on forecasts, inventory levels, and production schedules.Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure on-time arrival.Supplier ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or invoicing.Inventory ControlMonitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing plans to avoid shortages or excess.Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure accurate inventory records.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to align procurement with operational goals.Participate in new product introductions and support sourcing for new materials or components.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to reduce costs, improve lead times, and streamline procurement processes.Stay informed about market trends, material availability, and pricing fluctuations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in a buyer/planner or procurement role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Experience purchasing raw materials (plastics, resins) and finished goods.Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsInjection molding experience is helpful.Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Reading comprehension skills.Ability to multitask and handle multiple issues simultaneously.Strong collaboration skills with cross-related departments.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $33.65/hr.
