We are seeking a detail orientated and proactive Buyer. To support procurement activities for Cable Assemblies & Temperature Sensors used in gas turbine engines. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high reliability components that meet stringent aerospace quality and performance standards.The ideal candidate will have experience in aerospace procurement, strong supplier management skills with a solid understanding of technical specifications and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Execution:Source, negotiate and procure cable assemblies & temperature sensors from approved suppliers.
Create & issue purchase orders. Manage order acknowledgements, delivery schedules, and follow up on any possible changes.
Supplier ManagementDevelop & maintain strong relationships w/suppliers to ensure quality, delivery & cost targets are met.
Monitor supplier performance, support supplier audits and corrective actions.
Cross functional collaborationWork closely with engineering, quality and production teams. Understands technical requirements and resolve supply issues.
Participate in new product development (NPD) & design change process to ensure supply chain readiness.
Compliance and documentationEnsure all purchases comply with aerospace industry standards (e.g. AS 9100, FAA, IFTAR)
Maintain accurate procurement records, including specifications, certifications and traceability documentation within our ERP system (Axiom)
Cost and inventory managementSupport Cost Savings/Cost Avoidance/Cost Reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing or improved purchasing strategies and value engineering projects.
Monitor inventory levels to avoid material shortages, production delays and support just in time (JIT) delivery strategies.
Assist with inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or related fieldThree plus years of experience in Aerospace/Space or in a highly reliability manufacturer procurement environment.Familiarity w/cable assemblies, temperature sensors in gas turbine engine components highly preferredStrong negotiation, communication and analytical skillsProficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Axiom) & strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products especially Excel.Knowledge of Aerospace/Space quality standards & regulatory requirements (e.g. AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015, FAA, IFTAR)Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.Preferred attributes:
API, CS or CPM certificationExperience with supplier development and risk mitigation strategiesTechnical aptitude to read and interpret engineer drawings and specifications.Knowledge of bill of materials (BOM), lead time planning, and just-in-time (JIT) purchasing.Understanding basic technical drawings and manufacturing terminology.Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.
