Buyer - Stainless Long Products Southington, CT Responsibilities A buyer is responsible for providing administrative and support to the purchasing department and product managers with the daily operations of procuring material and managing inventory. + Obtain quotes from mills, suppliers, and services subcontractors. Assist with the negotiating pricing of material and services. + Review and adjust the status of incoming purchases. + Assist internal and external customers with questions. + Prepare and process quotes and purchase orders. + Resolve goods and services discrepancies. + Receive material and processing inventory requests. + Update price pages. + Work on special projects as assigned. Qualifications + High school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred. + Two of years of experience directly related to the duties of the position or like position. + Excellent communication and negotiation skills. + Analytical with a high level of attention to detail. + Aptitude for figures and budgeting. + Ability to make sound business decisions. + Experience using Microsoft Office Suite. + Basic Excel level experience required with ability to progress to intermediate level quickly.
