**Resumen** The Buyer – MRP is responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect supplies to support production schedules in a maquiladora environment. This role ensures material availability through efficient use of the MRP system, vendor management, and alignment with company quality, cost, and delivery standards. **Responsabilidades** **Key Responsibilities** + Review and analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system to generate purchase orders in line with production demand. + Ensure the on-time procurement of materials and components to prevent line stoppages and production delays. + Manage vendor relationships, including communication, follow-up, and negotiation of lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules. + Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to quality, delays, or non-conformances. + Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Logistics teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies. + Maintain accurate purchasing records and update ERP/MRP data as needed. + Coordinate with Customs/Logistics to ensure compliance with maquiladora import/export regulations. + Support cost-reduction initiatives, vendor development, and continuous improvement activities. + Prepare purchasing reports, KPIs, and analysis for management review. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, or related field. + 2–4 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing or maquiladora environment. + Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar). + Familiarity with maquiladora processes and import/export regulations. + Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). + Bilingual: English and Spanish (intermediate to advanced level). + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. **Desired Competencies** + Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. + Results-oriented and detail-driven. + Team player with strong collaboration skills. + Continuous improvement mindset.
