Job Description

The Buyer will maintain a thorough understanding of process-related systems for suppliers and parts, ensuring accurate material releases and service parts maintenance within GPCS to support warehouse packing operations and plant production. This role involves establishing communication networks with the supply base to promote positive relationships and delivery performance. The Buyer will identify, evaluate, and escalate critical issues to management, developing specific countermeasures to mitigate risks. Collaboration with departments and project leaders is essential to support Mass Production Site Delivery Frame department projects, aiming to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets. The Buyer will manage New Model and Mass Production design change activities, ensuring quality and effective date implementation to minimize production impact and costs. Reporting and Gemba activities are required for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation. Continuous improvement is achieved through Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) cycles, and developing capability through training and mentoring is encouraged.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain process-related systems for suppliers and parts, ensuring accurate material releases and service parts maintenance within GPCS.Establish and maintain communication networks with suppliers to promote positive relationships and delivery performance.Identify, evaluate, and escalate critical issues to management, developing countermeasures to mitigate risks.Develop communication networks both externally and internally to ensure operational success.Collaborate with departments and project leaders to support Mass Production Site Delivery Frame department projects.Manage New Model and Mass Production design change activities through close collaboration with impacted suppliers.Maintain reporting and Gemba activity for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.Strive for continuous improvement through PDCA cycles for areas such as supplier ordering and design change control management.Develop capability through training, mentoring, and sharing experiences in technical expertise.Support company vision and Business Plan activities by leading or supporting theme activities or project initiatives.Essential SkillsExperience in purchasing, procurement, purchase order, and supply chain management.Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems.Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent related experience.Average of 4 years of experience if no degree in related field.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of basic inventory management and manufacturing workflow.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and work with limited direction.Ability to troubleshoot complex problems in a team-based environment.Consistently identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Collect and apply business knowledge to solve a range of problems.Effectively lead project themes and sell ideas securing buy-in from individuals or teams.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Work Environment

This hybrid role requires working 4 days in the office and 1 day from home, with hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The work environment includes benefits such as PTO, Holiday Pay, and Paid shutdown while on contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.16 - $25.16/hr.
