We are hiring an experienced Buyer to join the Procurement Team in our Mountain View, CA location. **Summary:** The Buyer is responsible for procuring materials, components, and subassemblies required for the manufacturing of saleable products, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing supplier performance, and implementing procurement strategies to meet business objectives. The Buyer will also support cost reduction initiatives and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure optimal supply chain performance. **Essential Duties:** + Coordinates all activities related to procurement of a commodity, product line or supplier, beginning with intent to purchase through delivery. + Releases and manages work orders and rework work-orders + Responsible for parts procurement, product on-time-delivery, materials on-time-delivery, linear shipment scheduling and processing non-conforming material + Responsible for sales order ship date maintenance and establishing sales order shipment dates + Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials + Purchases materials, using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels + Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards + Develops specifications for new contract orders + Obtains materials, components and equipment + Evaluates vendor reliability, develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate + Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value, and all other duties as assigned + Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records. + Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, collaborating with management, sales, production or engineering. **Required Qualifications:** + 5-10 years of procurement/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. + Strong understanding of supply and demand planning, including MRP (Material Requirements Planning) functions and ERP systems. + Excellent negotiation skills with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. + Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors) + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. + Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint + Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen **Preferred Qualifications:** + BS degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or relevant field + Working knowledge of ISO9001 and/or AS9100 + Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS compliance. + Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CPSM, CSCP) **Other Qualifications** + Active Government Security Clearance + US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance. **Salary Range:** $61,600.00-$82,100.000 **Pay Transparency** The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
