POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of Planning Manager, the material planner coordinates inventory of materials in alignment with the production planned and weekly schedules.   and ensures that material are aligned with production schedules as well as keeping

performs a variety of duties including placing Purchase orders and following up on confirmations.   Following up with internal departments on past due and expedited shipments is a responsibility to ensure minimal disruption to the production schedule.  This position works in a team environment and is required to assist others when necessary, but must have demonstrated skills as a self-starter and be self-directed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews MRP messages and generates purchase orders in accordance with requirementsCoordinates deliveries on time to the plant based on schedule requirements using Transportation Portal or direct with the Vendor Maintains Item master parameters Information such as lead time, Minimum order, & safety stock for the respective materials. Provides Effective dates for all material changes / Bluebooks for existing materials and new products.Manages inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations to reduced floor disruptionsMonitor Inventory levels for Opportunities to revise purchase Plan/ Open POs to avoid excess inventory. As well as issuing IDR for respective write off for expired or discontinued materials.Works closely with QA  to follow up with Vendors on Quality Issues as neededWork with Inventory Clerk on any vendor return processing for creditsManages subcontracting purchases with 3rd party vendorWork with QA on required Samples for lab batchingCompletes all Safety and Plant Training as RequiredReview all AP Issues / vendor payment 3-way matchParticipate in all Plant LEAN Initiatives – 5S, Kaizen, 5 Why Investigations etcEmploy safe work habits and complies with all applicable Diversey safety requirementsOther duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

College diploma / post-secondary education with a focus on Supply Chain/ Purchasing preferred. Previous work experience can be considered.3+ years in a manufacturing environmentIntermediate Excel skillsSAP / MPR experienceAPIC Certification considered an asset
