Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Buyer will purchase materials, supplies, and services by developing, soliciting, and analyzing supplier quotations. Material procurement for series production. Coordinates activities with other departments and suppliers to ensure proper delivery, quality, reliability, and low-cost consistency. Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers. Resolves conflicts that arise with supplier delivery schedules, raw materials, inventory, etc. Implementation and safeguarding of the global commodity strategy, taking into account plant-specific requirements.  Participates in continuous improvement activities. Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in business or related field including 3+ years of automotive purchasing and/or materials experience. Knowledge of Supply Chain ManagementBasic knowledge of Electronic Components and/or Magna processesStrong facilitation, negotiation, and analytical skillsExcellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities, identify and set goals, meet deadlines, etc.SAP experience preferred, MS Office skills requiredAbility to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees.Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
