**INTRODUCTION and WHAT YOU WILL DO (Job Responsibilities)** The Buyer will be a member of the Purchasing Organization and will be paired with a Purchasing Specialist to manage a large list of direct material suppliers. The role will be focused on strategic management of assigned suppliers, with a focus on continuous improvement and execution against key business metrics including inventory turns, customer order fill rates, and purchase price variance (PPV). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + Work with Product Managers and Suppliers to develop strategic promotional plans. Negotiate price discounts in support of promotional plans. + Negotiate annual Supplier sales rebate agreements. + Manage Supplier performance through conducting Scorecard reviews and developing and implementing action plans for improvement. + Other Supplier terms and conditions negotiations as needed. + Work closely with Purchasing Specialist to manage assigned products and suppliers. + Review and place purchase orders. + Set and maintain JD Edwards system item planning parameters (lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stock, etc.).
