The Buyer, Senior I is responsible for leading advanced procurement activities within the framework of BorgWarner's global and regional commodity strategies. This role focuses on negotiating complex supplier agreements, optimizing supply chain performance, and driving cost reduction initiatives while ensuring quality and delivery standards are met. This position requires cross-functional collaboration and involvement in enterprise-level commodity teams. The individual is expected to bring technical insight and business judgment to procurement decision-making and act as a mentor to junior staff. Key Responsibilities + Lead and execute complex and/ or critical supplier negotiations in alignment with company strategy. + Recommend supplier selections in collaboration with global commodity teams. + Participate in enterprise- level commodity teams to align local actions with global procurement goals. + Handle a broad scope of challenges , including technical and commercial issues. + Apply best practices and established procurement procedures. + Ensure timely and accurate documentation and performance tracking. + Act as a mentor or resource for less experienced buyers when necessary.
