What You Can Expect
The IT Director of Global Quality and Engineering is a senior leader responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and support of our enterprise PLM platform and engineering design tools worldwide. This position serves as the IT owner of PTC Windchill – our core PLM system – and oversees its integration with multiple Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems (e.g. PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX) used across our R&D and engineering teams. The role ensures that product data and engineering processes are effectively managed through the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through design, manufacturing, and eventual product retirement.
In the highly regulated MedTech environment, the IT Director of global quality and engineering plays a crucial part in maintaining a “single source of truth” for product information. This ensures streamlined cross-functional collaboration, robust design control, and full traceability of design history files (DHF) and device master records (DMR) required for regulatory compliance. The individual in this role will collaborate closely with global engineering teams, Quality/Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and IT infrastructure groups to drive continuous improvement and innovation in how we manage product development data. This includes medical implants, devices, and software.
The IT Director reports to a Vice President of Enterprise Applications. Decision-making authority in this position is broad and can have a significant impact on cost, business planning and success of Zimmer's core business.
