Job Summary

Under general supervision, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. With this knowledge, develops or modifies moderately complex information systems.

Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary. Guides and advises less-experienced Business Systems Analysts. Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

Responsibilities*Become an expert in EPIC MiChart Anesthesia workflows and configurationAssist lead trainer in maintaining training material for EPIC MiChart Anesthesia, CST (Controlled Substance Tool) and other assigned MAISE Applications for end users and MAISE TeamAssist lead trainer in conducting individual and group training sessions for all Anesthesia provider types, MAISE team and other staffAssist with clinical application system upgradesDevelop and maintain tipsheets and communication to Anesthesia providers and staff as assignedDocument and test new features and workflow for assigned MAISE ApplicationsReview and document workflows for assigned MAISE ApplicationsManage small and medium ad-hoc requests. Work with requestor to create requirement, specs and scopeCreate schedule and resource planning documents for clinical upgradesDocument general MAISE policies and procedures in coordination with Michigan Medicine policies and procedures. Act as liaison between customer and other Michigan Medicine departmentsThis position is a hybrid position with approximately 3 days onsite and 2 remote days per week and depending on project workRequired Qualifications*Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology or business plus 2-3 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics or an equivalent information system roleExperience with a variety of Microsoft 365 ApplicationsExperience creating workflow charts for software applicationsProven ability to produce and maintain reportsExcellent analytic and problem-solving ability Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skillsAbility to produce clear communications for diverse audiences using appropriate methodsAbility to work independently and collaboratively; able to effectively network and build relationships with stakeholdersAbility to work in a dynamic environment and adjust to changing priorities processes, and project plansWillingness and strong aptitude to learn new technologies, methods and assume increasing responsibilities Desired Qualifications*Experience within a healthcare settingExperience with EPIC EHR or any other HEREPIC Proficiency or CertificationExperience with Tableau or Power BIPMI CertificationsProject management experienceExperience with understanding and documenting workflows and clinical processesExperience managing software application projectsUnderstand broad and technical concepts and technical industryWork Locations

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
