Business Systems Analyst

The **seniorbusiness analyst – information services** works closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to create both business and functional requirements and guide the process from idea inception to delivery. This position will assist the manager, information systems and data with the business analysis, project management of multiple complex projects, implementation and technical support for chosen technology. The senior business analyst – information services will coordinate cross-functional teams in mapping out and solving business problems, developing business requirements, work plans and technical specifications, as well as performing system and user tests, preparing documentation and training users. **What you do:** + Provide input for business planning and participatein the project planning process. Identify opportunities for improvement and/or enhancementsopportunities of existing business applications and processes; implement theseimprovements through effective leadership and engagement of others. + Develop overall maintenance and upgrades plansfor major VFPA business applications. + Work with internal and external customers toidentify and validate specific business and user requirements. + Utilize artifacts such as business requirementsdocuments (BRDs), JIRA, data analysis and Business Process Documentation,facilitates requirements alignment sessions + Determine system needs to ensure projectdeliverables meet customer expectations. + Create technical specifications for deliveringcustomer solutions. + Participate in the implementation andtransition of project outcomes to the appropriate area(s). + Work with the project team to develop andconduct user and support training. + Oversight of consultants to develop andimplement solutions aligned with agreed upon specifications. + Ensure change control and IS change managementprocedures are followed within the project team as they relate to requirements + Participate in the project close out andlessons learned activities to validate solutions with the business to ensuredelivery and continuous improvement. + Identify integration opportunities and overlapsamong VFPA business applications; recommend improvements and enhancements. Resolveapplication and data integration issues as required + Participate in determining and acquiringdevelopment resources (people, hardware and software). + Design systems specifications, modules, andprocess changes. + Document current and future/desired processes + Develop testing approach and plans and conducttesting to assure quality delivery. + Provide technical expertise and guidance,support and troubleshooting to VFPA business applications and processes. + Interact with users and anticipate user needson a regular basis. + Provide technical input directed toward theevaluation and acquisition of new systems and/or enhancements of existingsystems. + Prepare RFPs and / or requirementspecifications to evaluate proposal submissions. **What you bring:** + Apost-secondary degree in computer science, business administration or anotheracceptable area. + A minimum offive years’ related experience, including recent proven leadership on businessanalysis, project management and user requirement gathering in complex businessenvironments. + Experienceworking with both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies is required, andwell as proficiency in tools like Visio, Jira, Sharepoint and MS Project. + Must alsohave proficiency in modern programming languages, data management, analysis andreporting tools for assigned applications. + Strong preference for those with a passion anddedication to ongoing professional development (i.e. Business AnalystCertification). + Software development experience is anasset.
