Job Description:

The Business Optimization Consultant drives operational excellence and efficiency across Technical Operation Departments by identifying improvement opportunities, designing and implementing solutions, and supporting strategic initiatives that enhance Tech Ops performance and effectiveness within FAA-approved and accepted SWA Authored manuals. This role collaborates closely with Process Optimization Consultants and Optimization Analysts to bridge the gap between aircraft maintenance operations and data-driven insights in order to create actionable results. The Business Optimization Consultant is analytical with a continuous improvement mindset who is ready to drive the future of Southwest’s Technical Operations.

Responsibilities:Conduct assessments of organizational performance and efficiencyDevelop and implement strategies to improve business operationsDesign and prototype optimization solutions using human-centered design principlesLead cross-functional improvement initiativesFacilitate change management processesDevelop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)Collaborate with Process Optimization Consultants and Optimization AnalystsUtilize data transformation and visualization tools to analyze processes and communicate insightsSupport technology implementation and software enhancement projectsEnsure adherence to FAA regulations and data governance standards in all optimization initiativesMust be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this descriptionMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient in data transformation (e.g., SQL, Alteryx) and visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau)Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologiesUnderstanding of process mapping (including ARIS tools) and project management principlesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with FAA regulations and their impact on Tech Ops processesUnderstanding of data governance principles and their application in business optimizationEducationRequired: High School Diploma or GED

ExperiencePreferred: Experience with SQL, Database, Teradata, Oracle, Alteryx, Tableau and Redshift databases Preferred: Ability to construct basic SELECT statements Preferred: Comprehension of database structure and data retrieval concepts Preferred: Familiarity with fundamental data filtering and sorting techniques Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:Applying human-centered design principles to business problemsLeading complex cross-functional initiatives and aligning stakeholders at all levelsDeveloping strategies, plans, and solutions to address complex or ambiguous problems14 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Part 121 Operations

Licensing/CertificationMust be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements

Physical AbilitiesAbility to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the jobAbility to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $110,900.00 per year to $123,200.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
