Description
We are a centralized data engineering and analytics team that works on behalf of North America Stores to increase reporting efficiency and drive data-centric decision making. We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE - II) who will be a key contributor and sparring partner, developing analytics and insights for products that directly impact customer experience on Amazon.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, and user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards that support key business functions. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams—including operations, business stakeholders, data science, and technology—to understand their goals and deliver solutions that meet their analytical and reporting needs.
As a BIE II, you will help define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), streamline reporting processes, and drive improvements in data infrastructure. You will contribute to new initiatives and integration projects, applying your strong analytical skills to uncover meaningful insights from large and complex datasets. These insights will inform strategic decisions and improve overall business performance and productivity.
You will also support senior leadership by conducting deep-dives and developing data-driven recommendations that enhance team effectiveness and customer outcomes. You will be expected to share best practices, mentor peers, and demonstrate your readiness to take on broader responsibilities, contributing to the continuous growth of both your team and the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
