The WW Food Safety Organization is seeking a highly motivated Business Intelligence Engineer to create a great data strategy for the WW food safety program. You will have a passion for both people and working with complex problems to create the best user experience for all stakeholders. You are passionate about providing insights from data and have experience in working with large data sets. You are organized, efficient and insist on the highest standards. You are an experienced BIE and self starter who thrives on delivering projects. You will be required to make important decisions on the technical structure of the project from data pipelines, data models and roadmaps across the globe whilst managing stakeholder communication. As a member of the Smarter Food Safety Solutions Team, you will be informing high-impact customer decisions across Food Safety, Quality, Operations and business teams, working closely with senior leaders.

Key job responsibilities
- Define the global roadmap and strategy for data, design and deliver impactful data and analytics relating to Food Safety programs
- Develop Analytics solutions to solve some of the most complex business and product challenge
- Interface with cross functional stakeholders to gather metrics requirements and drive key business outcomes
- Develop interactive and flexible visualization dashboards to drive adoption and increase visibility into key measures of business performance.
- Perform data extraction using ETL tools and advanced SQL
- Partner with Business, Legal, and Tech stakeholders to understand challenges and provide data/analysis to help drive program success
- Provide wing-to-wing project lifecycle execution (project planning, execution, risk assessment and system availability)
- Understand the tools used and drive product and tech solutions with data

The Food Safety team provides food safety subject matter expertise for Amazon’s food businesses. Our mission is to build and maintain the trust of our customers by assuring the safety and quality of Amazon’s ingestible products. We deliver on this mission with science-based, data-driven programs that we continuously improve for the benefit of our customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
