The Corporate HR Partner team is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who is passionate about using data to drive critical business decisions for senior leadership. As a BIE you will be delivering data insights and deep diving novel questions to give our leaders access to data that is timely, accurate, and actionable. You will also partner with senior leaders throughout Amazon to drive insights, align scalable metrics, and track measurable results. Leveraging your passion for data, you will help create key analytical frameworks.
In this role, you will source data, cleanse, analyze, refine, enrich, model, present, automate and document our business data pipelines. You will always be on the lookout for ways to optimize the information flow process, stay on top of latest trends in data warehousing and be able to coordinate and work on multiple, related projects.
Key job responsibilities
- Build business intelligence (BI) solutions – data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, analyses – or components of larger solutions to answer business questions with data.
- Create scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation.
- Understand the business at its core and use that understanding to generate various business insights.
- Troubleshoot data, analyses, and code, research root causes, propose solutions, and take ownership in next steps for their resolutions.
- Generate business review metrics and documents to inform business and HR leaders on progress to people-related goals.
- Lead projects or components from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
- Field and resolve various ad hoc analytical needs for Corp HRP leaders.

About the team
Amazon's Corporate HR Partner (CHRP) organization works backwards from the voice of the manager to enable managers to build high performing teams that deliver for customers. CHRP provides personalized experiences at scale, using technology and simplified processes that match the speed and agility of the diverse businesses we support.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
