CGI is seeking an experienced BI Architect to join a strategic initiative to modernize the business intelligence systems of a government organization located in downtown Montreal. This major project aims to transform and optimize the BI infrastructure by adopting modern, scalable Microsoft solutions to support long-term analytical and decision-making needs.
Main Responsibilities
• Design and implement BI architecture in a Microsoft Azure environment, following industry best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business needs and define suitable technology solutions.
• Design and model data warehouses, data marts, and data flows, including relational, multidimensional, logical, and physical modeling.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes, particularly using SSIS and other integration tools.
• Apply classic BI approaches and techniques (Inmon, Kimball, dimensional modeling, Data Lake, ODS, DW, DM).
• Oversee the integration and use of Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Analysis Services, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Act as a subject-matter expert and advisor to the client, ensuring the quality of deliverables and the consistency of the overall architecture.
• Actively participate in design, development, and deployment phases while providing guidance to the BI team.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering).
• At least 10 years of IT experience, including a minimum of 8 years as a BI Architect or Data Architect.
• At least 4 years of experience in database architecture, ETL design, SSIS integration, and relational, multidimensional, logical, and physical modeling.
• At least 4 years of experience in modeling data flows, data warehouses, and data marts.
• At least 4 years of experience in BI projects using Inmon and/or Kimball approaches, as well as classic BI techniques (dimensional modeling, Data Lake, ODS, DW, DM).
• At least 2 years of experience with Power BI.
• At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft BI solutions on Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake Storage).
• Proven experience as a BI advisor on a large-scale project (2000 person-days) with at least 200 person-days of personal contribution, in a Microsoft Azure environment using the solutions listed above.
