Business Intelligence and Visual Insights Analyst

This role places equal emphasis on deep business understanding of the insurance life-cycle, data and systems, impeccable BI & visual insights development/ delivery and exceptional client, project, and stakeholder management skills. The Analyst, BI must have excellent data analysis skill and is capable of rapidly transforming analytical insights into easy to consume requirements for varying stakeholders.  They must also have a strong understanding of developing and working with business KPIs and data models. The candidate must demonstrate comfort with ambiguity and an ability to generate high quality products given competing priorities and present in front of user audiences.

Reporting: Role will report to the VP, Business Intelligence and Visual Insights.

Responsibilities:
•    Partner with cross-functional teams, including business unit leaders, finance, IT, and data management, to understand business requirements and develop data-driven insights to support decision making.
•    Develop and prioritize stories for data- or visual-analytics solutions to support multiple constituents, ranging from executives to underwriters.
•    Design visual wireframes based on business outcomes and KPIs
•    Adopt and champion standards for high-quality, easily consumable, visualizations.  
•    Analyze, develop, and maintain Data and Reporting Applications in collaboration with data engineers.
•    Understand, develop, and adhere to data quality, data governance, and data security protocols.
•    Lead end-to-end testing, validation and approval of KPIs, wireframes, and delivery of final dashboards in consultation with key stakeholders.
•    Provide ad-hoc analyses by querying cloud data warehouses using SQL and Data analysis tools
•    Develop and facilitate training for users in dashboard usage and adoption, data wrangling and visualization techniques.
•    Support deployment, production fixes, monthly and quarterly closing activities relating to business intelligence applications.
 Requirements:
o    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. 
o    3+ years of experience in data analytics and business intelligence.
o    Strong experience in asset development using analytics tools, such as SQL, Qlik and PowerBI
o    Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and the ability to create visually appealing dashboards, reports, and other analytics assets
o    Deep expertise in developing solutions for data warehousing, data models, and data governance.
o    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively facilitate and collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, and stakeholders.
o    Self-starter with an eye for detail, can independently set and manage competing priorities. It would be a plus if you have:
o    Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
o    1+ years of Insurance business experience or strong understanding of the Insurance Value Chain and core insurance functions.
o    Ability to drive solutions consultatively with executives in the face of unclear requirements.
o    Aptitude for driving innovation and automation through user-friendly data assets combining Business Intelligence, data science, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Location:
•    We are open to you being based in either our Whitehouse Station, NJ, Jersey City, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, or Simsbury, CT office.
