Job Summary
The Business Development Specialist assists the sales department in generating and following up on new business opportunities in order to expanding HUB’s client base, revenue and market share. This role works with Strategic Resource Managers and marketing departments to research and development outbound marketing campaigns along with following up with prospects that are generated by the campaigns.
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Conducts research in order to create prospect lead lists.
+ Develops and implements marketing strategies, such as email drip marketing campaigns and cold call campaigns in order to attract new clients.
+ Serves as the initial point of contact for inbound marketing leads.
+ Approaches existing clients for cross sell opportunities.
+ Manages leads in the CRM system.
+ Analyzes sales data to identify areas of improvement and develop action plans.
+ Participates in networking events and industry conferences in order to generate new leads.
+ Seeks continued knowledge and stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact the development of new business or sales and marketing strategies.
+ Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
+ 2-4 years business development / sales experience, insurance brokerage industry experience preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
+ Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
+ Critical Thinking: Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
+ Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
+ Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization.
+ Ability to efficiently gather pertinent information and facts, analyze and solve problems timely and thoroughly.
+ Computer Skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Excel; Project Management software and Database software preferred.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
+ This position primarily involves remaining in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.
+ The person in this position frequently communicates with colleagues and clients both in person and on the telephone; Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.
+ Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
+ The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

The expected salary range for this position is $16.50/hr - $18.00/hr. and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
