 Business Development Specialist

 

Position Summary:

 

Cultivate relationships within a designated territory to achieve or exceed assigned revenue objectives.  The primary focus is generation of new account revenue through the identification and development of qualified leads by developing a deep understanding of customer needs.

 

Job Functions:

 

Plan, organize, and establish objectives and goals for duties assignedIdentify and capture new business opportunities and develop new relationships with prospective clients to expand sales revenue and market share within assigned territory Conduct cold calls, face-to-face visits and presentations with clients and prospects in specific market segments Develop intelligence and background information on prospects, in order to develop targeted presentations which address the prospective client’s needsTrack all customers, prospects, opportunities and all sales activity into CRM systemDevelop an understanding of competitors’ products and actions to promote a competitive edgeProvide follow-up to clients to ensure satisfaction with the Company’s products and services providedIdentify and capture market/client trends and communicate findings to managementTrack and report weekly sales activities to management following established guidelinesContinuously improve knowledge of roofing industry by keeping abreast of changes in the marketParticipate in sales meetings and training and engage in local and regional associations as warrantedAll other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

 

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent3 – 5 years sales experienceDemonstrated success in sales, a strong record of achievement and a proven ability to achieve resultsKnowledge and ability to communicate the Company’s strengths and value propositions as the preferred provider of roof solutionsAbility to manage/qualify leads and close business through direct contact or over the phoneExcellent track record in developing relationships with a high degree of integrity and trustSolid verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skillsProblem solving ability so that appropriate solutions can be offered to meet client’s needsComfortable with using computer systems to track data, including strong analytical abilities to assess data collectedAbility to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and contract documents, as well as converse comfortably with all levels of the client’s and Tecta’s organization

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):

 

Proficient in Microsoft applications including SharePoint and CRMSales training methodology such as SandlerRoofing industry knowledge or experienceKnowledge of business and management principlesPreferred candidate must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment Previous experience in roofing, construction or a related field sales

Occupational Health and Safety:

Working Conditions:

 

Physical surroundings:  Office and field environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature as well as exposure to typical hazards of jobsite, including ladders, construction materials, etc.Physical Effort: Extensive sitting, standing, walking.  Repetitive keying, typing.  Occasional lifting not to exceed 50 poundsTravel:  Local, for purposes of visiting customers and reviewing needs onsiteHours: Not Subject to overtime
